The Great War on the Little Lagazuoi

Open until 21st October 2018 with free entrance

An important part of the history of World War I, a key event in the history of Italy and Europe, was written on the mountains of Cortina d’Ampezzo, in the areas of Lagazuoi, 5 Torri and Sass di Stria,

The historical exhibition titled GRANDE GUERRA SUL PICCOLO LAGAZUOI (Great War on the Little Lagazuoi) illustrates the events of World War 1 in the Ampezzo region, explains the military aspects of the conflict, demonstrates the impressive morphological effects of the mine war on Mount Lagazuoi and shows original war items and soldiers' everyday objects.

But above all, this exhibition tells about soldiers' life on this front line using original photos and sentences from the diaries of soldiers and commanders.

The exhibition is held in the new gallery Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, which can be reached in three minutes with the Lagazuoi cable car departing from the Falzarego Pass.
